TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SELLING WITH SLOF

IN GENERAL

These terms of use (“Terms”) tell you the rules for using www.slof.co.uk (our “Site”). Please read them carefully. 

 

By using our Site, you accept these Terms and you agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Site.

 

We may amend these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material amendments. Every time you wish to use our Site, please check these Terms.

WE MAY SUSPEND OR WITHDRAW OUR SITE  

 

Our Site is provided on an ‘as-is basis.’ We do not guarantee that our Site, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. We may suspend or withdraw or restrict the availability of all or any part of our Site for business and operational reasons. 

 

SITE SECURITY AND VIRUSES

 

We do not guarantee that our Site will be secure or free from bugs or viruses. You should use your own virus protection software. You must not misuse our Site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attack our Site in any way or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our Site, the server on which our Site is stored or any server, computer or database connected to our Site.

 

LINKING TO OUR SITE  

 

You may link to our Site, provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it. You must not establish a link in such a way as to suggest any form of association, approval or endorsement on our part where none exists. You must not establish a link to our Site in any website that is not owned by you. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

 

The intellectual property rights in our Site and in all content made available to you through it are the sole property of SLOF. All such rights are reserved by SLOF. You may store, print and display the content supplied solely for your own personal use. You are not permitted to publish, manipulate, distribute or otherwise reproduce, in any format, any of the content or copies of the content supplied to you or which appears on the Site, nor may you use any such content in connection with any business or commercial enterprise. 

 

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

 

We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so.  

This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors and for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

The scope of our liability to you will differ depending on whether or not you make any purchases through the Site or if we sell any items for you. 

Please note that we only provide the Site to you for your domestic and private use. You agree not to use our Site for any business purposes, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.

 

WHICH COUNTRY’S LAWS APPLY TO ANY DISPUTES?  

 

These Terms, their subject matter and their formation, are governed by English law. You and we both agree that we will both first attempt to settle any dispute by negotiating in good faith, failing which the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a resident of Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland, and if you are resident of Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland.

 

 

SLOF TERMS OF SELLING

 

These are the terms on which we sell nearly new children’s clothing provided by you (‘Terms of Selling’). Please read these Terms of Selling carefully before you consider sending us any clothing.

 

 

 

SELLING CLOTHES TO US: HOW IT WORKS 

 

  1. CONTACT US

In in the first instance please contact us via email to find out what sizes of clothing we are currently accepting.

 

  1. CLOTHES THAT WE DO ACCEPT

 

We will accept up to one large bag of items at a time (up to 30 items).

 

All clothes that we sell must meet the following criteria:

  • Be children’s clothing from 0-8 years
  • The clothes must be nearly new, for example:
    all stitching, buttons and zips must be in good condition;
    no stains, holes or tears on the outside or inside of the clothes;
    colours must not be faded;
    no piling (little bobbles) on the materials;
    no markings (such as children’s names) on the outside or inside of the clothes; and
  • all clothes must be recently washed and ironed.
  1. CLOTHES THAT WE DO NOT ACCEPT

 

We do not accept items from the following stores/brands: Any UK supermarket brands including USA supermarket (eg Target), any High-street brands (including Ted baker, Bluezoo, French connection) or online fast fashion retailers. This list may be subject to change so please check back regularly. If you are unsure whether we will accept a certain brand, don’t hesitate to contact us before sending us your item.

We do not accept any of the following types of items in any condition:

  • Children’s accessories such as: glasses, belts, straps, or bibs;
  • Underwear: briefs, knickers, socks, tights, thermals, long underwear;
  • Home-made or knitted clothes;
  • Clothes with no brand or size labels; or
  • Counterfeit clothes (we will have full discretion to determine if an item

is counterfeit).

We will not accept clothes that do not meet all of the above criteria.

 

 

 

 

  1. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

 

Upon receiving your clothes, we will inspect and assess every item against our criteria. We will create and inventory of your items and send to you via email) an estimate of the price we will retail your items for.  All items are sold on a 50/50 basis so your commission for each item will be clearly stated.

 

For a guide on the prices we ask for items please check our website.

 

You can then accept the prices and we will proceed to add the items to our website and social media.  If you reject the prices all of the items will be returned to you.

 

We will keep your items for a one season:

Spring/Summer season is February -July

Autumn/Winter season is August – January

 

If you choose to withdraw your items before the end of the season we charge a listing charge of £15.  This covers the cost of photographing and listing up to 30 items.

 

At the end of the season, we will give you the option on any remaining items to:

- Reduce the price and add to sale section

- Return to you

- Donate to charity

 

  1. PAYMENT

 

We process payments to sellers on the 1st Monday off every month.  Any commission from items sold during the month will be paid to you via Paypal or BACS we will ask your preference on the first month sales of your items are made.

 

COVID-19 UPDATE

 

At present, we are only able to collect items when social distancing measures are adhered to.  Please ensure that you contact us to organise a mutually convenient time. When a time has been organised we will text/message to let you know we are outside to collect.  Please bring the items out and leave a distance of 2m we will then collect them from you.  All items will be placed in storage for 7 days before being processed.  If you or anyone in your household has COVID-19, is displaying symptoms or has been contacted by a track and tracer please contact us to reorganise a collection for after the 14-day quarantine period for the whole household has been completed.
